There are multiple ways you can easily clean your composite cladding. The best way we recommend to clean your cladding is simply using a wet cloth or a sponge with ammonia-free soap. Additionally, you can use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the boards from any dirt or debris, using a light hose to wash off any traces of bacteria or stains. Aside from these options, many homeowners choose to use a pressure washer when cleaning their composite cladding. However, when using a pressure washer, you have to exercise caution so as not to create any damage to the cladding board surface.

Why should you not use a pressure washer?

A pressure washer works by concentrating the water to a specific point with significant force to quickly and conveniently remove debris from a surface. A pressure washer can potentially cause damage to the board surface. If the pressure washer is too close to the cladding, it can distort the appearance of the board, not only altering its look but also compromising its structural integrity. The last thing you want when trying to clean your cladding is to cause any damage, which can become costly and time-consuming to fix.

Removing Snow from the Surface of your Cladding

If your cladding starts from the base of your home and extends to the top of the wall, snow will accumulate at the bottom of your cladding. This is true if you live in a region that is cold and it snows a lot.  You have to remove the snow to keep the surface of your composite cladding clean. One way to remove snow from a composite cladding surface is by using a shovel. This is an effective way of cleaning your plastic wood cladding without using a pressure washer. The kind of shovel that you will use on your composite cladding should be a plastic shovel. It will make sure that you don’t scratch the surface of your composite cladding when you are removing the snow.

Removing Mud or Dust

Dust and soil can accumulate on cladding, which can be easily removed with a brush or gentle hose down. You can use a cloth to lightly scrub any debris off the surface.

Grease

Oil spills or grease stains are things that can affect your composite cladding. You can remove oil or grease from the surface of your composite cladding without using a pressure washer. Look for a brush that is not too hard and an ammonia-free soap.

Mix the soap with water and then spray the mixture on the surface of your composite cladding. Then you should scrub with your brush until you are sure that you have removed all the oil or grease. After, you can rinse your cladding surface with water until you have removed all the dirt.

Removing Mould and Mildew

The process of removing mould and mildew from the surface of your composite cladding is similar to removing oil and grease. You will need a brush that is not too hard and soapy water. Spray the liquid on the mould and mildew, and then scrub.

After you have scrubbed your composite cladding, you should rinse it with water. You don’t have to use a pressure washer to clean your composite cladding for this task.

Conclusion

You can clean your composite cladding without using a pressure washer by using a cloth or sponge. Aside from that, you can use a brush and soapy water to clean the body of your composite cladding
