Step One – Remove Plant and Other Structures

If the structures cannot be removed, then you must cover the surface of the structure with something. 

Step Two – Clean the Fence

Cleaning the fence is something to do after you have removed the plant from the side. This is achieved by spraying water on it with a hose. Be certain that all dirt is removed so that sanding the fence will be easy.

Step Three – Sand the Fence

You have to sand your wood plastic fence so that you will achieve a very smooth surface. This must be carried out by sanding along the grain of the fencing panel.

The tool for this task is a sandpaper that is 240-grits. After sanding, you should wipe the dust with a broom and spray with water.

Step Four – Prime the Fence

Now that the fencing panel surface is smooth, the next thing to do is to prime it. You should select an acrylic latex exterior primer. 

Then, pour the latex primer in a bucket and apply it along the length of your composite fencing panels. You should utilize a roller with a long handle so that the task will be achieved quickly.

Step Five – Paint the Fencing Panel

After the primer has dried, you can commence painting your fence. Paint should be carried out along the grain of the fencing panel.

You should ensure that you use high-quality latex paint for outdoor painting.
