Important Installation Advice: Pedestals are designed exclusively for solid foundations, such as concrete bases or existing paving. If you are constructing your composite deck over a soft, uneven surface like lawn or soil, these risers will sink. For soft ground, you must use traditional timber or composite posts secured with concrete to achieve the necessary stability.
By elevating your framework up to 140mm off the ground, these risers create a generous, highly functional void beneath your patio. This extra space is incredibly convenient for hiding thicker pipework or electrical cables. Most importantly, it guarantees excellent water runoff and promotes the heavy airflow required to stop your subframe from sitting in damp conditions and rotting.
